Driving Our Mission Forward: Help Us Reach Our Bus Fund Goal
Our fundraising campaign for a much-needed new school bus is well on it’s way. Thanks to your generosity, we are currently forty-two percent of the way to our desired goal of $150,000.
This addition will meet a growing need for safe, reliable transportation for our current student body—whether it’s traveling between campuses, heading to off‑site educational experiences, or supporting our athletic teams on the road. An additional bus will also break down transportation barriers that prevent new families from pursuing Christian education with JCA.
Will you join us in driving our mission forward and helping provide accessible Christian education for every student?
2026 National Day of Prayer
May 7th was National Day of Prayer and two classes of JCA students had the opportunity to tour Iowa’s beautiful Capitol building, where they explored the history of our state and gained insight into how legislation is created and passed. It was a meaningful chance to see civic leadership in action and deepen their understanding of how our government works.
Students then participated in the National Day of Prayer celebration. They were invited to recite Scripture from memory as a student group and later helped lead worship alongside The Elim Arrival worship band. They also witnessed community guests and Iowa leaders spending time in worship and prayer for our state and nation.
Experiences like these encourage our students to grow in faith, leadership, and civic understanding—and we are grateful for them.
Honoring our Nation's Flag at JCA West
Earlier this year, JCA West raised funds to purchase new chapel flags. During the first week of May, our students had the meaningful opportunity to learn what happens to old flags when they are respectfully and properly retired.
Ron from the Veterans of Foreign Wars visited chapel to share his story. With 26 years of military service, he spoke about the many ways God protected him throughout his time in uniform. After chapel, students traveled to the VFW, where they witnessed a formal flag retirement ceremony and learned why honoring and retiring our nation’s flags with dignity matters.
We are grateful for experiences like these—moments that help our students grow in faith, respect, and gratitude.
JCA Track and Field: A Historic First Season
JCA Track & Field season is officially complete—and what a season it was. This year marked the very first time in JCA history that we fielded a track team, and our athletes rose to the challenge with determination and heart.
Throughout the season, students pushed themselves at every practice and meet, setting personal bests and showing steady growth from start to finish. Their commitment, teamwork, and perseverance made this inaugural season one to remember.
We are incredibly proud of all they accomplished and are already excited to see how the program continues to grow next year.
Kindergarten Farmers
JCA Main kindergarteners enjoyed a wonderful field trip to Steve and Marla Vermeer’s farm at the beginning of May, where they experienced hands‑on learning about Iowa agriculture and the beautiful world the Lord has created. From seeing farm animals up close to discovering how crops are grown, our students gained a deeper appreciation for the land, the farmers who care for it, and God’s amazing design.
What a joyful day of learning, exploring, and giving thanks.
Pray Without Ceasing
At JCA, we believe in the power of prayer. If you want a simple yet impactful way to get involved, we humbly ask you to join us in praying for our school.
- Pray for students to glorify God and represent JCA well in our community over the summer.
- Pray for a time of rest and rejuvenation for our teachers and staff as they look forward to next school year.
- Pray for record number enrollment – we are asking God for 400 students enrolled beginnng 2026-2027 school year.
- Pray for spiritual growth for all students and for the salvation of those who have not placed their faith in Christ alone.
