Amazing Archery
Archery is a unique athletic offering that our students love! Shawn Clark and Matthew May lead our student athletes, coaching them in strength, stability, and precision. They started the season off strong this January, with every student placing in the top 10 of their age category–a great accomplishment! Pictured right is a few of our students at practice getting ready for the next tournament. We thank God for this group of talented individuals, and their supportive families and coaches. We are excited to see how the rest of the season goes!
JCA Secondary Caroling Tour
JCA Secondary Choir had a wonderful day singing in 5 nursing homes as well as for the students at Main and West Campus. It was a long, hard day–and they were tired when done! But at the end we reflected on how God uses our service to bless others. We saw people join in singing, others tapping toes or nodding their heads with us, one even conducted! One gentleman walked in front of some of us and was frowning and agitated to begin with, but eventually he calmed down and sat to listen–even sporting a grin. We sang in common areas and sometimes walked the halls to catch those bedridden. I pray that we always remember to Love our Neighbor by sharing what we can. This day it was our time and voices, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Securing our School
We deeply value the comfort and safety of every student and staff member, and building a stronger security system for JCA main’s building was of top priority. Together, JCA staff applied and received a $50,000 federal school safety grant, and worked closely with the team at Convergint technologies to install new security cameras throughout the facility and access control on our main entrance. What was nearly a year-long process was worth every minute of work committed to keeping our JCA family safe.
As our school grows, this project is just one of many planned to continue to improve the quality of education we provide at Joshua Christian Academy. We look forward to continuing to share the opportunities to partner with us to further God’s school!
College Visitors at JCA West
JCA West had the women’s basketball team from Faith Baptist Bible College come and volunteer. We had some items such as soap, shampoos, and hand sanitizer donated to the school. The women’s basketball team bagged the items up and passed them out to the students.
The team also served lunch, hung out, read with the students, and spoke to them about their personal faith testimonies and about college. The visit was very fun and educational!
