Iowa Education Savings Account

What you need to know

An Education Savings Account, also known as an ESA, is a great opportunity for JCA to further provide a quality Christian education to those who wouldn’t normally have access to it.

*The ESA application for the 2026-2027 will close on June 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm.

How it Works

  • Iowa’s Education Savings Account (ESA) program allows eligible families to use a state-set amount, currently about $8,000 per student, to direct public education funding toward tuition at an accredited nonpublic school like Joshua Christian Academy.
  • Families must complete the application process for all eligible students by the June 30 deadline.
  • Once processed, funds will be deposited into an Education Savings Account (ESA) to be used for tuition, fees and other qualified education expenses as specified in the legislation.

Who is Eligible

  • All current JCA Students.
  • All current students entering Kindergarten.
  • All current students enrolled in a public school.
  • All current students enrolled in an accredited private school with a household income at or up to 400x the poverty level.
